1. Your account and users
- JZ is for businesses. The person who signs up must be at least 18 and allowed to act for the business.
- The person who signs up is the owner of the business account. The owner can add staff up to the number of sign-ins the plan includes (the owner plus 2 staff).
- Keep passwords private. Your business is responsible for everything done by its users, and for removing users who should no longer have access.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone has used your account without permission.
2. Free trial
New businesses get a free trial of 30 days with all features. No payment details are needed for the trial, and nothing is charged when it ends.
3. Fees and payment
- After the trial, JZ costs $15.00 AUD a month.
- You pay upfront for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, by PayPal, PayID or bank transfer. Paying early adds the new months after any time you have left.
- There is no automatic renewal. We never charge you again unless you choose to pay.
- We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice in JZ. A change never affects time you have already paid for.
- We give a receipt for every payment.
4. When a plan ends
- When the trial or paid time ends, JZ becomes read-only. You can still sign in, view, print and export your records, but you can't add or change them until you pay again.
- We keep your data for at least 12 months after your plan ends, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. After that we may delete it, and we will tell you by email at least 30 days before.
5. Refunds
Payments are for time paid in advance and are not refunded if you stop using JZ early. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If JZ has a major failure, you may be entitled to a refund for the unused time.
6. Monthly limits
Each business can use 50 AI receipt scans and 10 Business Analyser runs a month. They start again on the 1st of each month (Sydney time). Unused scans and analyses don't carry over. You can always add expenses by hand.
7. AI features
- Receipt scanning and the Business Analyser send information to an AI service (Claude, by Anthropic) to produce their results. For receipt scanning, that is the receipt image. For the Business Analyser, it is a summary of your figures with customer and product names, but never customer emails, phone numbers, addresses or ABNs.
- AI can make mistakes. Check scanned amounts, dates and GST before you save them, and check the Analyser's suggestions before you act on them.
- The Business Analyser gives general information only. It is not financial, tax or legal advice. Talk to your accountant or tax agent before making important decisions.
8. Your data
- Your business owns the data it puts into JZ. We use it only to run JZ for you, keep it safe, and fix problems.
- Each business can see only its own data. Our platform administrators can look at a business's records only to give support, fix problems or check that these terms are followed.
- We don't sell your data or your customers' details, and we don't use them for advertising. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
- You must have the right to store the personal information you put into JZ, such as your customers' details, and handle it lawfully, including under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where it applies to you.
9. Your tax and records
JZ helps you prepare invoices, GST figures and reports, but you are responsible for what you send to customers and lodge with the ATO. Check your BAS figures before lodging. You must keep your own business records for as long as the law requires (generally 5 years), so export or print what you need regularly.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use JZ for anything unlawful, including false or misleading tax invoices;
- try to see or change another business's data, or get around JZ's security or limits;
- overload, copy, resell or reverse engineer JZ, or use automated tools to scrape it;
- upload anything harmful, such as viruses.
11. Availability and backups
We work to keep JZ running and your data backed up, but we can't promise it will always be available or error free. We may take JZ offline for maintenance, and we will try to do this outside business hours.
12. Liability
- Some rights under the Australian Consumer Law can't be excluded, and these terms don't try to.
- Apart from those rights, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost data or penalties.
- As far as the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Where the law allows, we may instead limit it to supplying the service again or paying for it to be supplied again.
13. Pausing and closing accounts
- You can stop using JZ at any time. Because nothing renews, you don't need to cancel anything. To have your business deleted, ask us.
- We may pause or close a business that seriously breaks these terms, or that we must pause by law. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you time to export your data.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we will tell you in JZ at least 30 days before they start. If you keep using JZ after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using JZ.
15. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Questions about these terms? Contact JZ support.
